I wrote a profile of director Casey Neistat for Milk Made. He’s kind of my hero now. Not many dudes who knew what they wanted since age 7 (and after seeing the movie Big, no less), and then went out and did it.
Steven Sebring’s “Revolution” show was at the Armory this week. I stopped by to take photos and talk about photographing the fourth dimension. It really made me want an Oculus Rift headset. For Motherboard.

I can see why authors dislike the question, “Would you want to be friends with your character?” A yes or no answer would be inconsequential. But a thoughtful answer could explore the character’s personality and maturation. A clumsy opening perhaps, but still meaningful.
But the New Girl writers managed to bang on the crazy prank drum long enough for it to tie into the season finale and actually be kind of funny. This still applies though.

Cautiously optimistic. I still would’ve cast Jeff Bridges as Graff. I think he’d better capture the good Colonel’s wry gruffness in what is otherwise a rather bleak place.

I’m not sure how I saw Iron Man 3 without knowing it was helmed by Kiss Kiss Bang Bang writer/director Shane Black, but it’s super obvious in retrospect. The script is easily the best in the trilogy and fits RBD so well that it’s like he is Tony Stark. The first film did that too, but after rewatching it tonight, the action and dialogue feel slower and clunkier. Like an outdated model. If this is Downey’s last turn as Stark, then he went out on a high note. If he returns, even better.
