I’m not sure how I saw Iron Man 3 without knowing it was helmed by Kiss Kiss Bang Bang writer/director Shane Black, but it’s super obvious in retrospect. The script is easily the best in the trilogy and fits RBD so well that it’s like he is Tony Stark. The first film did that too, but after rewatching it tonight, the action and dialogue feel slower and clunkier. Like an outdated model. If this is Downey’s last turn as Stark, then he went out on a high note. If he returns, even better.
