I'm not joking when I say that octopus balls are my favorite kind of balls and Otafuku used to serve some of the best at small storefront on East Ninth Street that was so small that only a few people could order and drool in anticipation. It shut down some time ago, but apparently it was just to reopen down the same block as Otafuku x Medetai with an expanded menu and larger space. I had the whole place to myself when I went in today to stuff my face. The moist warm balls were almost as delicious as I remembered with the same sharply salty flavor of its special mayo and ginger. I just didn't get quite as much mayo and ginger as I remember in the best. Next time, I'm going to try the okonomiyaki.
